By trade, I'm a technical writer, and I specialize in creating user manuals people can actually read. I realize, that if you've read most stuff that comes out of a software shop, you may take this statement with a grain of salt, but I've made it my mission to produce stuff you can use to actually learn the software you've spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on.
I like to tell people the difference between me and other technical writers is I can speak Computerese and English, and as a result, I can translate highly technical information into audience centered information.
By avocation, I'm a member of the Mt. Baldy Ski Patrol. I'm pretty biased, so I think we're the best ski patrol in the country, but last year that same sentiment is shared by more than just me.
In addition to a number of coveted individual merit stars awarded by the National Ski Patrol, Baldy won the Best Small Ski Patrol Award from the Southern California Patrol Region and the Far West NSP Division, and we were first runner up as the Best Small Ski Patrol in the Nation!
In addition to skiing, I'm a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the IEEE Computer Society; and no, I don't see any irony there.
